May 31, 2016--  Massachusetts midwives honored at 2016 ACNM Awards Ceremony.  Susan DeJoy, Sukey Krause and Rachel Graber were recipients of awards.  Kathryn Kravetz Carr and Julie Paul were inducted as ACNM Fellows. And Susan Kamin was awarded a community grant for her "Midwives for Peace and Justice" organization.

February 2, 2012-- Legislative Success !  Governor Duval Patrick signed H 3815 into law, congratulations and thank you to midwives, and supporters in Massachusetts!

This legislation will pave the way to better access to women's health care across the commonwealth by setting the stage for independent midwifery practice consistent with the Standards for the Practice of Midwifery (link) and the Joint Statement of Practice Relations between OB/GYNs and CNM/CMs (link). The Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing updated regulations (244 CMR 4.00) governing the practice of the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) effective August 1, 2014.
